A gunman barricaded himself inside his Long Beach apartment and was surrounded by a police SWAT team Saturday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched at 2:12 p.m. Saturday to the 3600 block of Santa Fe Avenue regarding a person with a gun, the Long Beach Police Department’s Allison Gallagher said.
Officers shut down Santa Fe Avenue between 34th Street and Wardlow Road, Gallagher said.
It was not immediately clear what led to the confluence of events.
