Police Wednesday are investigating a fatal collision in Pomona where a child was killed and a woman suffered severe injuries in a collision.
Officers from the Pomona Police Department responded at 8:02 p.m. Tuesday to the area of Towne and Lexington avenues regarding two pedestrians being involved in a collision. When they arrived, they found the woman and the female child in the roadway near Towne, according to the police department.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called and pronounced the child dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The driver of the vehicle who hit the pedestrians remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
