Firefighters worked Thursday evening to stop a Moreno Valley fire that started at seven acres and spread to 40.
The fire was first reported at 7:03 p.m. in a difficult to access area near Nason Street and Dracaea Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
At 9:54 p.m., officials reported that the fire had consumed 40 acres and was about 50% contained by lines of cleared vegetation.
There were no reports of structures threatened or people injured.
