A 100-acre fire in Homeland was 75% contained Saturday with extensive mop-up efforts underway to extinguish a hot spot, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 2:11 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Juniper Flats Road and Mapes Road.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, an evacuation order was issued Friday, affecting residents and businesses between Falcon View Lane and Juniper Flats Road, but that order has been lifted and Juniper Flats was opened at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
