An estimated 200 juveniles gathered at the SouthBay Pavillion Mall Saturday and caused a disturbance that resulted in Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies being summoned and urging people to avoid the area.

Deputies were sent at 3 p.m. Saturday to the mall at 20700 Avalon Blvd., Carson Sheriff’s Station Sgt. K. Ay told City News Service.

“There were a large number of juveniles and they created a disturbance,” Ay said. The station later posted on X that the juveniles numbered about 200.

There were no thefts or injuries, he said.

Deputies arrived and spent about five hours getting the juveniles to leave. “Numerous juveniles were detained,” Ay said.
