A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway in Wilmington Wednesday evening.
California Highway Patrol officers were called to the freeway near the Anaheim Street exit at approximately 9:14 p.m. where they learned a white hatchback struck the pedestrian, who was walking in one of the freeway’s middle lanes, CHP Officer A. De La Rosa told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The victim’s name, age or gender were not immediately known.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of four lanes of the northbound freeway and the Anaheim Street exit for several hours while the CHP investigated the collision.
