Officials touted two separate holiday toy drives in Riverside Sunday.

The Riverside Police Department will host its annual “Toys for Tots Car Show” on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 7393 Orangewood Drive.

The event will feature several classic cars and hot rods, live music, raffles and a barbeque provided by the Riverside Police Officers’ Association until the food runs out. To gain entry to this all-ages event, people can pay $10 admission, donate gift cards or donate a new, unwrapped toy, police said.

The drive supports the Riverside Police Foundation’s Christmas Families program, with all toy and money donations helping local families in need.

Also Sunday, the Parkview Community Hospital announced that this year’s toy donation and giveaway is underway for less fortunate children in the city of Riverside. The toy donation is a collaboration between Regal Medical Group Inc. and Lakeside Community Healthcare.

The toy giveaway will be held at the Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center at 3865 Jackson Street on Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The event will include a slew of fun-filled activities for families, such as face painting, a hot chocolate station, a craft corner and raffles.

Anyone who cannot attend may still donate new, unwrapped toys to the Parkview Hospital until 1 p.m. on Dec. 14. There will be a one-toy-per-child rule during the event, and families need a ticket, which can be acquired through the Eventbrite website at eventbrite.com/e/2024-riverside-toy-donation-and-giveaway-tickets-1055656520069?aff=ebdssbcategorybrowse.
