The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent Saturday to $4.379, its lowest amount since Aug. 11, 2021.
The average price is 3 cents less than one week ago, 10.2 cents less than one month ago and 39.5 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.115 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped 1 cent to $4.299, its lowest amount since July 12, 2021. It is 3.1 cents less than one week ago, 8.9 cents less than one month ago and 30.2 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $2.16 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $3.023. It is three-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 6.1 cents less than one month ago and 8.1 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.993 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“I’d like to say that the national average will fall under $3 soon, but now I’m not so confident,” AAA spokesman Andrew Gross said Thursday. “It appears to be stuck despite low demand and cheaper oil. But 31 states already have an average below $3.”
