A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday morning while walking on an on-ramp to the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Rosemead.

The fatal crash was reported at 6:35 a.m. Friday on the northbound Rosemead Boulevard on-ramp to the westbound freeway, California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Nasir told City News Service.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Nasir said.

He was later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Frank Cherry.

The CHP issued a Sigalert at 7:09 a.m. shutting down the on-ramp. It was canceled at 10:06 a.m.
