The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County increased four-tenths of a cent Saturday to $4.451.

The average price is 2.5 cents more than one week ago and 5.5 cents more than one month ago, but 21.6 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.043 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County declined six-tenths of a cent to $4.39. It is 2.1 cents more than one week ago and 6.9 cents more than one month ago, but 17.7 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $2.069 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

“Oil Price Information Service reports that gasoline inventories in local refineries are higher, but refineries are preparing to enter their annual maintenance season when production capacity will be lower,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.

“OPIS also reported that Southern California refineries stated that the wildfires have so far posed no imminent threat to operations.”

The national average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $3.064. It is the same as one week ago and 4.4 cents more than one month ago, but 1.3 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.952 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
