A 25-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured in a collision at a Murrieta intersection, authorities said Monday.
Brian Bridgeforth of Menifee was killed at 11 a.m. Sunday at Hospitality Place and Los Alamos Road, according to the Murrieta Police Department.
Lt. Miguel Garcia said Bridgeforth was going through the intersection when his motorcycle struck a sedan, hurling him onto the roadway.
It was unclear who may have been at fault.
Murrieta Fire & Rescue personnel reached the location minutes later and pronounced Bridgeforth dead at the scene.
The motorist, whose identity was not disclosed, was not injured, nor were any of his passengers, also not identified. There was no word on the extent of damage to the vehicle.
Garcia said the driver was questioned and “did not display any signs or symptoms of impairment” from alcohol or drugs. The other occupants of the vehicle, as well as a person who witnessed the collision, were also questioned by patrol officers, according to Garcia.
No one was arrested.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information was asked to contact the police Traffic Bureau at 951-461-6830.
