Police Saturday were investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a woman dead in North Hollywood, just east of Van Nuys.
Officers were called to the 11700 block of Victory Boulevard, near Colfax Avenue, at 9:40 p.m. Friday regarding a pedestrian versus vehicle collision, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They learned a vehicle traveling west on Victory struck the victim and drove away from the scene, an LAPD officer told City News Service.
A second vehicle traveling in the same direction struck the same victim and also fled without stopping to render aid, police said.
The first vehicle was only identified as a sedan, and the second vehicle was described as a light blue or grey 2003 Toyota 4 Runner.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. She was described as a 26-year-old Hispanic woman. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
