A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic Tuesday evening.
California Highway Patrol officers were called around 8:14 p.m. and found the victim lying in on the freeway near the Parker Road exit, according to the CHP.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.
The CHP issued a SigAlert closing three lanes of the freeway for at least three hours while an investigation was conducted.
