A woman who led police on a high-speed freeway chase that ended in Lawndale is in custody Tuesday on suspicion of carjacking.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division initiated the pursuit before turning it over to the California Highway Patrol, CBS 2 reported.
The pursuit traversed the San Diego (405) Freeway and the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway as the suspect drove at speeds that at times exceed 100 mph, KTLA 5 reported. The suspect eventually left the 405 Freeway at Hawthorne Boulevard in Lawndale and stopped along the side of the 105 Freeway at around 10 p.m. Monday.
The suspect exited the white vehicle, began yelling at the approaching CHP officers and was eventually taken into custody.
