One person was struck and killed by a vehicle in Palm Springs, authorities said.
Officers responded to a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on North Palm Canyon Drive and Yorba Road shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
They located a man lying in the roadway, and the Palm Springs Fire Department attempted live-saving measures but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation, the police department said.
The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
