A 35-year-old man suspected of stabbing an Orange County sheriff’s deputy in San Clemente was arrested Wednesday.

Moses Paulisin was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at San Onofre State Beach by state parks rangers, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun.

Paulisin was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon, Braun said.

The deputy was treated for a neck wound and released from a hospital Tuesday night and was expected to fully recover, Braun said.

The deputy, on patrol with a partner conducting homeless outreach, was assaulted about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Avenida Pico and Calle de Los Molinos, according to Braun.
