A pedestrian was killed Saturday when they were struck by a vehicle west of Hawthorne and the West Athens neighborhood of Los Angeles.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 4:32 a.m. Saturday to West 120th Street and South Western Avenue where they found the victim, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The victim — whose name, age and gender were not known — was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
