A 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy who were allegedly abducted by their father from their Sylmar school were found and reunited with their family, police said Thursday.

It was unclear if their father was also found.

The children had been last seen around 11 a.m. Tuesday at their elementary school in the 13000 block of Hubbard Street, where their biological father picked them up, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The father — 39-year-old Rodion Kolomoeits — recently lost custody of the children, police said.

No details were released on where or when the children were found.

Police said Kolomoeits was believed to be driving a 2016 gray Toyota Prius with California license plate 9PKY966. The vehicle was seen crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in San Ysidro at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Kolomoeits was described as a 5-foot-11-inch tall white man with brown hair and gray eyes. Police said Wednesday he is a Ukrainian national and may have been planning to return to Ukraine with the children.
