The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the eighth time in nine days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.853.
The average price has dropped 7.4 cents over the past nine days, including 1.3 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose three-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 5.7.cents less than one week ago and 54.1 cents lower than one year ago but 19.1 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.641 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing 1.5 cents to $4.785. It has dropped 9.5 cents over the past 10 days, including 1 cent Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 7.5 cents less than one week ago and 56.1 cents lower than one year ago but 16.2 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.674 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 10th time in 11 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.169. It has dropped 9.9 cents over the past 11 days, including 1.1 cents Tuesday. The national average price decreased two consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent April 7 and resumed dropping the next day.
The national average price is 6.6 cents less than one week ago and 47.5 cents lower than one year ago but 9.3 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.847 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
