The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Wednesday for the eighth time in nine days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $4.642.
The average price has dropped 6.8 cents over the past nine days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It decreased five consecutive days, was unchanged on Sunday and resumed dropping on Monday.
The average price is 4.7 cents less than one week ago, 3 cents less than one month ago and 64.3 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.731 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose 2.2 cents to $3.182, one day after rising 1.1 cents. It is 1.1 cents more than one week ago, 2.4 cents more than one month ago and 47.5 cents lower than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.834 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
