A man in Long Beach suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound from a shot allegedly fired by a woman with whom he had been in an argument, authorities said Saturday.
The man, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, took himself to a hospital, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers dispatched about 10:45 p.m. Friday to the 5000 of East Ocean Boulevard regarding a shooting located evidence that a shooting had occurred.
The victim and the suspect fled the location prior to police arriving, but officers were notified that the shooting victim had self-transported to a hospital, police said.
“The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was in a verbal dispute with a female suspect, which escalated when the suspect shot the victim,” according to a police statement. “The investigation is ongoing.”
