The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County remained the same Saturday at $4.455, its lowest amount since Feb. 5.

The average price had decreased 24 times in the previous 25 days, dropping 23 cents, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.4 cents less than one week ago, 22.9 cents less than one month ago and 28.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.918 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

“Oil Price Information Service and the Energy Information Administration continue to report high refinery utilization rates on the West Coast, indicating that they are maximizing production of gasoline and other fuels,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement.

“The latest price reductions have brought pump prices within about 30 cents of their lowest level of 2025, which was at the start of the year.”

The national average price inched up one-tenth of a cent to $3.133, its fourth consecutive slight increase after a five-day streak of decreases totaling 2.2 cents. The national average price is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 4.7 cents less than one month ago and 32.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.883 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
