A 35-year-old man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl nearly five years ago and raping and robbing a woman last year in Anaheim.

Victor Hernandez Cortes was charged with single counts each of rape and robbery and three counts of lewd acts with a minor younger than 14, all felonies. He also faces a sentencing enhancement for the use of a deadly weapon.

Cortes allegedly met a 13-year-old girl in an Anaheim park, lured her into his car and sexually assaulted her on Nov. 26, 2020, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter.

Cortes also allegedly hired a 30-year-old sex worker Oct. 26, 2024, took her in his car and raped and robbed her at knifepoint, Sutter said.

Cortes did not enter a plea at his arraignment Monday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. He was scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 22 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
