A half-acre fire broke out Wednesday in Riverside before it was stopped.

The non-injury blaze was reported around 8:16 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Box Springs Road and Fair Isle Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said crews arrived at the scene and encountered a 100-by-100-foot fire. It was contained shortly before 8:40 a.m., and crews remained for an additional hour for mop-up.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
