An upper-level ridge sliding to the east and weaker offshore gradients meant lower temperatures Friday, with just one record high tied.
The 90-degree high at Woodland Hills tied the record for this date set in 1977. The community’s high temperature was one degree lower than Thursday when a record for Feb. 11 was set, breaking the previous record set in 1971.
Today’s other highs included 89 in Chatsworth; 88 in Northridge and Pasadena; 87 in San Gabriel and Van Nuys; 86 in Burbank and Pomona; 85 in downtown Los Angeles and UCLA; 82 in Hawthorne and at the Long Beach Airport; and 79 at Los Angeles International Airport.
A fast-moving low will bring some clouds and cooler temperatures on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Saturday’s forecast highs include 85 in Pasadena and Woodland Hills; 83 in San Gabriel; 82 in Burbank; 80 in downtown Los Angeles; 76 in Long Beach; and 74 at Los Angeles International Airport.
