Firefighters were working to stop a 20-25-acre brushfire that was burning Monday in the Palmdale area.
The fire was reported at 5 acres at 4:38 p.m. Monday on Barrel Springs Road at Harold First Street, Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. David Dancic told City News Service.
By 5:09 p.m., what was known as the Ellie Fire had grown to 20-25 acres, Dancic said. Conditions were dry in the area.
There was a potential for structures to be threatened eventually if the forward progress of the fire wasn’t stopped, he said.
