A mother and her teenage daughter were struck by a vehicle in Indio and suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The crash was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Clinton Street and Granada Street, according to the Indio Police Department.
The pedestrians, who were identified only as a 51-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter, were struck by a Hyundai SUV while walking in the roadway, according to Sgt. Abraham Plata.
The pedestrians sustained minor injuries and were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
The SUV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
“DUI does not appear to be a factor in the incident,” Plata said.
A temporary road closure was lifted about 30 minutes after the accident.
