Crews made fast work of a fire in a two-story apartment building in the University Park area Monday morning.
Thirty-four firefighters responded to the blaze, which was reported at 5:51 a.m. in what turned out to be an unoccupied second-floor apartment of a center-hall building at 2620 S. Orchard Ave., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire was declared out 12 minutes after crews arrived, the LAFD reported.
There were no injuries, a department spokeswoman said.
