A man was hospitalized and remains in critical condition Thursday after an officer-involved shooting in Boyle Heights.
Cellphone footage of the shooting aired by NBC4 showed the suspect being shot twice by a Los Angeles Police Department officer.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of Marengo and North State streets at 5:27 p.m. Wednesday after officers responded to a call of a man with a gun, LAPD Officer Drake Madison said.
No officers were injured in the shooting, Madison said, and a replica semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene.
The suspect was in critical condition in a hospital, Madison said.
