A 54-year-old woman who was killed in a fatal hit and run collision in Hollywood was identified by county authorities Friday.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division were called to the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Wilton Place at 12:32 a.m. Thursday regarding a report of a vehicle crash, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

According to the LAPD, the victim, identified as Linda Pine by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, was traveling north on Wilton when the second driver, a woman driving a Range Rover east on Sunset, slammed into Pine ‘s white Mazda sedan.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters were called and attempted to free Pine, who was trapped inside her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Video from the scene showed debris from the wreck scattered on both sides of Sunset.

The driver of the Range Rover fled the scene on foot and is still at large, police said. Fox 11 reported the Range Rover had been reported stolen.

The LAPD closed the area around Sunset and Wilton while officers investigate the collision.
