Two men – one of whom is in critical condition – were injured in a crash Saturday after the car they were driving in slammed into a train-crossing signal at the Pacific Harbor Line in Wilmington.
Los Angeles Fire Department Fire firefighters responded at 1a.m. Saturday to 800 N. Alameda St., south of East Anaheim Street, where they freed a 34-year-old man who was pinned in the driver’s seat, said LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said.
Parmedics took the man to a hospital in critical condition and a 35-year-old man was also taken to a hospital in serious condition.
The train tracks were closed while the LAFD and crews from the city Department of Transportation investigated the cause of the crash and conducted traffic control at the crash site, Lantz said.
