A man was fatally shot Wednesday in South Gate.
Homicide detectives responded around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday to the 3300 block of Southern Avenue to reports of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but no motive or suspect description was immediately available.

It was the second fatal shooting in South Gate being investigated Wednesday. Deputies were called to the 3700 block of Tweedy Boulevard and South Carlos Avenue, a short distance away from the Southern Avenue death, at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, where they found the victim, LASD homicide Lt. Daniel Vizcarra said.
That man was also pronounced dead at the scene.
