A person was fatally struck by a Metrolink train Tuesday in Pacoima.
Firefighters responded shortly before 4 p.m. to the 9700 block of North San Fernando Road to conduct a rescue operation, where they discovered a pedestrian who was struck by a Metrolink train and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It remains unclear how the victim managed to get struck by the train. No other injuries were reported.
The victim’s name was withheld pending the notification of relatives.
The fatal collision was under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
