One person was killed Monday when a sedan driven the wrong way on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Arcadia crashed head-on into another car.

The crash was reported at 2:55 a.m. Monday on the eastbound Foothill Freeway at Baldwin Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Arcadia Fire Department responded and pronounced one person dead at the scene, a CHP officer said.

All eastbound lanes through the area except the far right lane and shoulder were shut down at 3:39 a.m. and a SigAlert was issued at 3:45 a.m.

Only the far right lane and shoulder were open as of about 7:30 a.m., although Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office personnel were reported to be at the scene to collect the victim’s body, according to the CHP.
