Man Pleads Guilty to Raping Woman in Anaheim

A 26-year-old man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a woman in Anaheim.

Emmanuel Magana Suarez pleaded guilty to rape and forcible oral copulation, both felonies. Suarez’s city of residence was not provided.

Police were called about 3:10 p.m. Jan. 5 to a business in the 1900 block of East Lincoln Avenue for what was initially thought to be a case of indecent exposure, according to Sgt. Matt Sutter of the Anaheim Police Department.

A dispatcher, skeptical that it was a sex act between two consenting adults, raised the call to a priority and another officer accessed a traffic camera in the area and saw the victim was not moving, Sutter said.

That officer told the responding officers, who got to the scene quickly and were able to get the woman to a local hospital, Sutter said.

A good Samaritan who witnessed the assault detained the suspect until officers arrived, Sutter said.
