The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County was at its lowest amount for Christmas since 2020 Thursday, $4.182.
The average price had dropped 36 of the previous 37 days, decreasing 52 cents, but rose three-tenths of a cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.5 cents less than one week ago, 43 cents less than one month ago and 9.2 cents less than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $2.191 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $2.847. It is 4.9 cents less than one week ago, 20.8 cents less than one month ago and 19.3 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.169 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
