The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County ticked down one-tenth of a cent Saturday to $4.13, its lowest amount since May 29, 2021.
The average price has dropped nine times in the past 10 days and is 1.9 cents less than one week ago, 24.4 cents less than one month ago and 18.9 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.243 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Several more Southern California gas stations are now charging less than $3.50 a gallon, and drivers should easily be able to find pump prices lower than $3.70 a gallon in most areas,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement released Thursday.
The national average price dropped eight-tenths of a cent to $2.799. It is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 14.1 cents less than one month ago and 26.7 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $2.217 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022, and is at its lowest amount in almost five years.
