A 36-year-old man who was shot outside a Manchester Square eatery was identified by county authorities Thursday.
Avery Newman was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office as one of the victims of the shooting.
The shooting occurred at 6:44 p.m. Sunday on Manchester Boulevard, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman told City News Service. Video from the scene showed the cross street was Normandie Avenue.
The victims were waiting for food when two suspects approached them on foot, shot at them and fled westbound on Manchester Boulevard, the officer said.
Four victims were taken by ambulance to hospitals, he said. Newman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A fifth victim was taken to a hospital by private vehicle and also had stable vital signs.
