A car plowed into the front of a business in a Temecula strip mall, causing major damage and injuring two people, authorities said Friday.
The crash happened at 8:25 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Temecula Parkway and Butterfield Stage Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The agency said a motorist apparently lost control and smashed into the building.
County fire personnel reached the location shortly after patrol deputies and found the two occupants of the vehicle suffering from unspecified minor to moderate injuries.
They were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment and were in stable condition Friday, authorities said.
No one inside the mall was hurt. According to the fire department, damage to the business was extensive.
It was unclear what triggered the crash. The motorist was not arrested, but the investigation was ongoing Friday.
