A bicyclist who died in a traffic accident in Long Beach was identified by county authorities Friday.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office identified Robert Neal as the victim of the fatal accident.
Officers responded to reports of an unresponsive person in the center median near Artesia Boulevard and Indiana Avenue at about 9:40 p.m. Jan. 16, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Firefighters also arrived on the scene and performed life-saving measures before taking Neal to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Detectives believe Neal was traveling eastbound in the far-left lane of Artesia Boulevard on an electric bike when he possibly lost control and hit the curb of the center median.
