Singer and American Idol winner Abi Carter will perform at the BNP Paribas Open, the annual Indian Wells tennis tournament, later this year, it was announced Friday.
The Indio native will perform at the Village Stage on March 4.
“There’s something special about playing a new venue in the place where I spent 22 years growing up. I’m so excited to reunite wit the community that raised me at the BNP Paribas Open!,” Carter said in a statement.
After winning season 22 of American Idol in 2024, Carter has since headlined the 11,000-capacity Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert and performed at the Mane Stage at Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio.
The 2026 BNP Paribas Open will be held from March 1-15 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, located at 78-200 Miles Ave.
