A fatal shooting in South Los Angeles Thursday left one person dead and police searching for multiple suspects.
Officers responded at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday to the 8200 block of Vermont Avenue to reports of shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police confirmed a canopy was erected at the scene as detectives conducted an investigation.
Several unidentified female suspects wearing dark-colored clothing were last seen heading eastbound on 83rd Street toward a parking garage, police said.
The motive for the shooting remained under investigation.
