Law enforcement agencies across Southern California reminded drivers Friday to celebrate Super Bowl Sunday without getting behind the wheel drunk or high.
Personnel with the California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles Police Department will have an increased presence on the roadways this weekend to keep a strict watch for Super Bowl revelers who get behind the wheel while inebriated.
“Super Bowl Sunday brings excitement, energy and visitors from across the country,” said CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee. “Our goal is to keep California’s roads safe, and we will actively enforce laws against unsafe and reckless driving. At the end of the day, the real winner is the one who makes it home safely.”
Options abound for getting around without driving drunk, but law enforcement officials advise making a plan for safe transportation before the partying starts.
