An uprooted tree smashed into a sound wall near the San Diego (405) Freeway in Brentwood Wednesday, prompting the California Highway Patrol to shut down all traffic on the southbound freeway at Sunset Boulevard.
The fallen tree was reported at 1:42 a.m. Wednesday in the 11300 block of Albata Street and South Church Lane, adjacent to the 405 Freeway, where it damaged the sound wall, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
Caltrans was called to the scene to repair the damage to the wall.
A Sigalert was issued for the closure of the Sunset Boulevard off-ramp and the southbound lanes of the freeway. The freeway re-opened around 5 a.m.
