Federal and local law enforcement officials Monday were planning a news conference to announce the arrest of a Pennsylvania man who is believed to have targeted a local minor victim as part of what they are calling a “nihilistic violent extremist ideology on the internet.”

First Assistant United States Attorney Bill A. Essayli of the Central District of California were to be joined at the news conference by FBI Assistant Director in Charge Akil Davis, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell and Chris Margaris, chief of California Highway Patrol’s Southern Division.

Details about the investigation and arrest were not immediately available prior to the news conference.
