The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Tuesday for the 26th time in 27 days, increasing a half-cent to $4.67, its highest amount since Dec. 3.

The average price has risen 31.3 cents over the past 27 days, including 1 cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose 20 consecutive days, dropped three-tenths of a cent on Wednesday and resumed increasing on Thursday.

The average price is 4.8 cents more than one week ago and 31.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 11.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.824 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose for the 27th consecutive day, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.606, its highest amount since Dec. 2. It has increased 36.3 cents during the streak, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 6 cents more than one week ago and 36.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 14.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.853 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the sixth time in seven days, increasing 1.3 cents to $2.951. It has risen 3.4 cents over the past seven days, including four-tenths of a cent on Monday. The national average price increased four consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent on Sunday and resumed increasing on Monday.

The national average price is 8.9 cents more than one month ago but 19.3 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.065 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
