Authorities Tuesday continued investigating a fatal shooting involving a 40-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a field in Lancaster.
Homicide detectives responded about 11:40 a.m. Feb. 19 to the area near 140th Street East and East Avenue E following reports of a deceased woman found in a field, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the woman as Elena Kazanes, who died from gunshot wounds.
Details about the shooting remain limited as detectives continue their investigation, and no suspect description has been released.
