Police sought the public’s assistance Thursday to locate the driver responsible for the death of a 30-year-old man in a hit-and-run crash in Panorama City.
The crash occurred at about 11:50 p.m. on Feb. 7 when a westbound vehicle on Devonshire Street, nearing Densmore Avenue, struck a pedestrian in the street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said the impact of the crash caused the pedestrian to sustain serious injuries as the driver of the vehicle continued traveling without rendering aid.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
His name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” police said in a statement.
A reward of up to $50,000 was being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
