A solo motorcycle crash in the unincorporated Blythe area left a rider injured Monday and prompted a helicopter airlift to a hospital.

The collision was reported shortly before noon Monday west of Highway 95 on Vidal Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The male rider, whose name was not released, sustained minor injuries, the agency said.

Details about what led to the crash were not immediately available.

The rider was hoisted by a California Highway Patrol helicopter to a landing zone before being taken to a hospital.
