A suspect was shot and killed Monday evening by a Pasadena Police Department officer.
The department received a 911 call at 7:30 p.m. Monday regarding a shooting near the Metro A Line Sierra Madre Villa station, Pasadena Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian told City News Service.
Arriving officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and learned the suspect ran from the scene. After a foot pursuit, the officers caught up to the suspect at Electronic Drive and Sierra Madre Villa Avenue, where the suspect was shot and killed by an officer and an officer was wounded, Derderian said.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Derderian said the officer was taken into surgery shortly after his arrival at a hospital.
